Countertops!

The countertops are in!

It took a bit longer than expected due to some unlevel cabinets - (mostly those that were there before) so we'll be finishing up tomorrow - hooking up the sink, and touching up what the backsplash didn't cover..

Will try to update tomorrow - now off to moving furniture!

My apologies for the delay in Blogging - we were visiting all our friends down in Disney World - Here we are with Belle and the Beast - watch out Jen - he's gonna get you!

While we were gone - They pretty much finished up - At this point - everything is done except for the countertops..

Here's a good shot of the kitchen including floors that was taken tonight..

In the bathroom - you can see the shower door installed..

Wood flooring throughout the family room space is all done - they barely made it - only a few pieces left when they were done!

Above - you can see I'm starting to get materials into the space too - the TV mount and shelving mounts (the shelves will eventually be black)

Tomorrow, the countertops go in - and after that - they're done! - then we just need to get the shelving in and move our furnature back - the inspection is also Monday.

Wait, something's missing...
Ooh - there it is!
The toilet was moved, and our new vanity installed in the bathroom! Aside from lack of light and shower door - it's a functional space now!

Note the baseboard trim going in - gives it a sharp look!

Other work done today include installing the linen closet door, the new outdoor water spicket, and bringing all of the wood flooring inside to acclimate to the house!

Oh - and the countertop folks came to measure today - Jen was here and made all the critical decisions on this one - we're going to have a bullnose edge on the counters.

Lots o stuff

Cabinets! The new upper cabinets went up today - open shelving in the middle and the end, along with two new upper cabinets.

Bathroom floor is done! Grout and all - and look - we have a door!
They pulled out the flooring in the old family room area in preparation for next week.
And last but not least - he layed some dirt and sod under the corner of the fence - now the puppies won't run under it! Guess I've got to water that corner now...

Now there's some color!

Kitchen was painted today! - first coat - it looks great! see - the wall isn't pink anymore!

Tiling is finished in the bathroom - no grout yet tho!

Lots of color went up today - well, mostly monochrome - see our black media wall below - and our nearly invisible equipment cabinet..
in the background - you can see the same gray used in our previous family room - and last but not least - our eye popping pink.. Jen's always wanted a pink kitchen!
OK - OK - that's actually just the primer - it will be a deep red before they're all done.. (and it's just that wall - the kitchen will be a nice mustard color.

Also started today - the tile flooring in the bathroom! A nice pattern layed with a little medallion peice every other tile. I had to stop and pick up 1 extra medallion on my way home tonight - they're 1 short of being able to finish it!

Cabinets!

Now that the drywalling is complete in the kitchen, the cabinets were installed!
We've now got trash, lasy suzan, a tall cabinet, and a set of drawers installed.


As you can see - there's still plenty of room for the island if we want to keep it there - I'm guessing we won't, but it remains to be seen..


Also - a railing for getting up and down our new back door!

Weekend progress

Denver and son worked through the weekend getting the walls prepared - with a special focus on the kitchen area, so that the cabinets can get installed early next week, and countertops ordered!

Here's the old master bedroom window location - we're getting close to being able to move the bed back!

We've also had him patch up the joint between the bonus room and the rest of the house - it wasn't filled with anything, so it constantly pulled away, leaving a gap. Now it's all sealed up!

Muddy work

It's kind of hard to see - but more mudding and taping on Friday - they'll be back today as well.

Denver and Junior also patched up the ceiling in the dining room - we're having him patch up a bunch of areas around the house.
On Thursday, the fence went back up.. Unfortulately, the posts were set a little too high, and Roxie would run right under there if she were here.. Ray's going to lay down some top soil and sod to solve the problem tho, so everyone's still happy!

Really Dry Walls!

The drywall hanging was finished today - and the mudding started - they'll be here the rest of the week seaming and mudding.. Next week - painting & cabinets!


Here's the bathroom - They used special green drywall that reduces mold!

Getting a little back to normal - got a start on raising the fence again!
Speaking of green - I think Jen's trying to kill me - green pancakes for dinner tonight!
(actually they're Zucchini pancakes, and they're quite yummy)
